Eligibility
Typical pattern. The official notice for the current year is final.
- Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology. Biology studied only as an additional subject at Class 12 level was not counted in the 2022 regulations.
- The 2022 rules asked for 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% for SC, ST and OBC). The January 2025 amendment replaced this clause with a plain Class 12 requirement. Read the current NCH notice.
- Age: 17 years completed on or before 31 December of the year of admission, as per the 2022 regulations.
- You must qualify NEET UG. Under the 2022 regulations the qualifying mark is the 50th percentile for General, 40th for SC, ST and OBC, and 45th for General with disability. It can be lowered for a year.
- The 2022 regulations barred open school and private candidates from NEET. The 2025 amendment omitted that clause. Check the current NCH notice if you studied through open school.
- Counselling authorities send admitted-student data to NCH for verification, so admissions made outside counselling can be cancelled.
