Admission counselling
One-to-one guidance on courses, exams, counselling authorities and options that fit your profile.
Overview
Admission counselling is one-to-one guidance that turns marks, rank and a long list of options into a clear, ranked plan. A counsellor sits with the student and parents, explains the rules of the current cycle in plain language, and stays with the family from the first profile review to the last round.
Who it is for
- Students who have a rank or score and do not know which counselling to enter
- Parents who want to understand quotas, costs and back-up plans before deciding
- Families choosing between India and MBBS abroad, or between several courses
- Students whose first round did not go as hoped and who need a clear next step
- Families who are new to counselling and are afraid of missing a deadline
How it works, step by step
- 1Profile reviewWe start with the student: marks, entrance exam score or rank, category, domicile, gender, budget and the courses the student actually wants. We also ask about the parents' concerns, because the best plan is one the whole family can live with.
- 2Map the counselling you are eligible forDepending on the course this may be a central counselling (for example the MCC for NEET UG, or JoSAA for JEE-based admissions), one or more state counsellings, deemed-university counselling, or direct institute admission. We list each one with what it covers and what it asks for.
- 3Explain the rules of the current cycleQuotas, reservation, domicile conditions, fee-payment steps, the number of rounds and the rules for leaving a seat change from year to year. We read the current official notice with you and explain what it means for your case.
- 4Build a ranked strategyWe prepare a list of courses, colleges and states in order of preference, split into options that are safe, options with a fair chance and options that are a reach. The trade-offs, such as city, fee, and course against college, are explained plainly.
- 5Walk through the roundsBefore each round we revisit the plan, prepare the choice list, and agree what to do for each possible outcome: accept, freeze, float or move on. After the result we help you read it and decide the next step.
- 6Reporting and formalitiesOnce a seat is allotted we help with the reporting letter, document verification, fee payment and the formalities at the college, so nothing is missed in the last days.
- 7Close with clarityAdmission is either confirmed and documented, or we sit down again and build an honest alternative plan, which may include another counselling, another course or a different year.
What we check and consider
- Eligibility for the course and for each quota you plan to use, read from the official notice
- Category, domicile and any special-category certificates and whether they are valid in the counselling you target
- Total cost over the full course, not only the first-year fee
- Recognition and approval status of the college and the course, checked against the regulator's published lists
- Seat-leaving and refund rules of each counselling before you commit money
- Your realistic position using past closing ranks as a guide, never as a promise
- Distance, hostel and family circumstances that affect whether a seat is practical
- The back-up plan if the first choice does not work out
What you get
- A one-to-one discussion with a counsellor who explains each step in simple language
- A written, ranked plan of courses, colleges and states
- A calendar of the registration, choice-filling and reporting steps that apply to you
- A checklist of documents matched to your counselling
- Regular updates to the parents at every stage
- Support through every round, including what to do if a round does not go your way
What to keep ready
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
- Entrance exam score card or rank letter, and the admit card
- Category, EWS or other reservation certificates, if you will claim them
- Domicile or residence proof for the state counsellings you plan to join
- Passport-size photographs and an identity proof such as Aadhaar
- A rough budget the family is comfortable with
- A list of courses, cities or colleges you already like, and any you want to avoid
- For NRI or overseas-Indian applicants, passport, visa or residence proof and sponsor details
How long it takes
The first discussion usually fits in one sitting. After that the pace is set by the official counselling calendar, which is published by the counselling authority each year and differs between central and state counselling. We work to those dates and remind you ahead of every deadline. We cannot make a round open earlier or a deadline longer.
What we do not do
- We do not guarantee a seat, a branch or a college. Allotment depends on rank, rules and seat availability.
- We do not change counselling rules, results or merit lists.
- We do not promise discounts or special access. Any fee discussion is honest preparation only.
- We do not fill choices without you. You see, understand and approve the list before it is locked.
- Past closing ranks guide the discussion but do not predict this year's result.
We are a counselling service. We do not guarantee any seat, college, branch or result. Always confirm dates, fees and rules on the official notice of the current year.
Questions answered
When should we start counselling?
Ideally before the result is announced, so that documents are ready and the family understands the process. Registration windows are short and open soon after the result, so early preparation helps. Always confirm the dates on the official notice of the current year.
Is counselling only for medical admissions?
No. The same approach applies to engineering, management, law, pharmacy, nursing, allied health and other courses. The authorities and rules differ for each, so we map the right counselling for your course first.
What is the difference between central and state counselling?
Central counselling usually covers seats such as all-India quota seats, central institutes and deemed universities, while each state runs its own counselling for state-quota seats using its own rules on domicile and reservation. Many students can take part in both, which is why the strategy matters.
Can we change the plan after a round?
Yes. After each result we review the options again. Depending on the rules, you may accept a seat, freeze it, float for a better choice in the next round, or exit and move to the next stage. The right move depends on the rules of that counselling.
Do you also guide parents?
Yes. Parents are part of every discussion and receive updates at each stage, so decisions about cost, city and back-up plans are taken together and nothing comes as a surprise.
What if my rank is low?
We say so honestly and look at the wider picture: other states, other quotas, private and deemed options, other courses, or another attempt. We will not promise a result that the rules do not support.
Do you charge for the first conversation?
The first consultation is free. Fees for any further service and the refund policy are shared in writing before you enrol.
