Career consultation

Talk through career paths and alternatives with a counsellor.

Overview

Career consultation is a calm, unhurried conversation about what the student is good at, what they enjoy and which course can lead to a life they want. It helps families compare options honestly, including options they had not thought about, before any admission form is filled.

Who it is for

How it works, step by step

  1. 1Listen firstWe begin by asking the student, not the parents, what they like, what they find hard and what a good day of work would look like for them. Then we hear the parents' hopes and worries.
  2. 2Understand the academic pictureMarks, subjects, exam scores and strengths in particular subjects give a realistic base. We look at where the student is, not where the family wishes they were.
  3. 3Map the course optionsWe list the courses that fit the profile in the chosen stream, including less obvious ones, and explain what each course actually involves: subjects, duration, practical work and the path after graduation.
  4. 4Explain the path after the degreeFor each shortlisted course we describe common next steps, such as licensing exams, registration with a council, postgraduate entrance exams, jobs or further study, without promising any salary or placement.
  5. 5Check practical fitBudget, location, the family's ability to support the student for the full course length, and willingness to relocate are discussed openly.
  6. 6Narrow to a shortlistTogether we choose two or three courses to go forward with, plus one back-up, and note what would make us change the plan.
  7. 7Connect to admissionOnce the course is chosen, we link it to the entrance exams, counselling and colleges involved, so the decision becomes an actionable plan.

What we check and consider

What you get

What to keep ready

How long it takes

One focused session is often enough to build a shortlist, and a follow-up helps once exam results or more information arrive. Admission-linked decisions follow the counselling calendar of the current year, so it is better not to leave the course decision to the last days.

What we do not do

We are a counselling service. We do not guarantee any seat, college, branch or result. Always confirm dates, fees and rules on the official notice of the current year.

Questions answered

Is career consultation only for students who are confused?

No. Students who feel sure also benefit from checking their choice against the facts, such as the exams involved, the cost, and what the course really teaches, before committing.

Do you use any test?

We rely mainly on conversation, marks and the student's interests. Tests can give ideas but we do not treat any single test as the answer. The decision is made with the family.

What if the student and parents disagree?

It is common. We hear both sides, explain the facts about each option and look for a choice that both can accept, with a clear back-up. Often disagreement comes from missing information rather than different values.

Can we consider courses abroad?

Yes. We explain options such as MBBS abroad honestly, including recognition rules, the licensing exam for returning to India and the total cost. Please also read our MBBS abroad pages.

Is a drop year ever the right call?

Sometimes. It can make sense when the rank is near a goal and the student is committed. We discuss the risks, the cost and alternatives, so the family decides with clear eyes.

Which stream should my child take after Class 10?

It depends on interests, strengths and the courses the student may want later, since some courses need particular subjects in Class 12. We map the courses first, then the subjects they require.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes, the first consultation is free and without obligation. Fees for any further service are shared in writing first.
