Your role
Students make the final choice of course; parents bring budget, experience and calm. The best outcomes come when both read the same official notice and decide together.
What you can do
- Help gather and organise documents early
- Learn the dates and keep a shared calendar
- Visit or research colleges together
- Agree on a budget ceiling before choice filling
- Never share counselling passwords or OTPs with anyone
Money decisions
- Ask for the total cost of the whole course in writing
- Pay fees only through official channels and keep receipts
- Be cautious of anyone who asks for cash for a "guaranteed" seat
Supporting your child
Counselling can be stressful. Celebrate effort, avoid comparing with other students, and remember that most students have more than one good path.
